At Simposio de Industrias Creativas 2025, our session Impacto del Cooperativismo en la Innovación Digital highlighted how cross-disciplinary collaboration fuels innovation. In the creative industry, no idea thrives in isolation—cooperative workflows bring together diverse skill sets, resulting in more impactful and immersive design experiences.
With Orbe Marino, Roberto and I merged UX/UI design, interactive web experiences, and 3D modeling to bring an unseen world to life: marine microorganisms thriving within coral structures. This project stands as a testament to how UX design and 3D modeling can complement each other, shaping digital experiences that are both aesthetic and functional, immersive and educational.
The Creative Process Behind Orbe Marino
For our session, we broke down the 7-step process that guided our project, highlighting how structured yet flexible workflows helped us bring Orbe Marino to life:

7-step process
🔹 1. Connecting & Planning: We started with open dialogue and goal alignment, defining the vision of an interactive gallery showcasing 3D-modeled marine microorganisms.
🔹 2. Brainstorming & Referencing: Inspired by marine biology and UX trends, we collected references, sketched ideas, and conceptualized how users would navigate the experience.
🔹 3. Filtering Ideas & Defining Direction: We refined our approach, choosing which 3D elements and interactions would best showcase the invisible ecosystems within coral structures.
🔹 4. Sketching & Early Design: I began wireframing the user experience, while Roberto drafted early 3D prototypes of microorganisms and coral structures.
🔹 5. 3D Modeling & Texturing: Roberto developed the 3D assets, ensuring high-detail yet optimized models. His expertise in 3D Tech Art & Development was crucial in bringing these microscopic forms to life.
🔹 6. Web Optimization & UI Development: I designed and developed the website in Wix Studio, focusing on responsive UX/UI for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
🔹 7. Testing & Refinement: We conducted user tests, optimizing for performance, interactivity, and accessibility, ensuring a smooth and engaging digital experience.
Orbe Marino in Action
One of the most exciting moments of our presentation at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón was the live demonstration of Orbe Marino. Attendees explored the 3D figures on the web, zooming into radiolarians, foraminifera, and other microscopic marine organisms embedded within a coral-inspired digital landscape.
Their reaction confirmed how UX/UI and 3D modeling can work together to create engaging, educational, and artistic experiences.
Final Thoughts: The Future of UX & 3D Collaboration
The intersection of UX/UI and 3D modeling reshapes our thinking about digital experiences. Designers, developers, and 3D artists can build more immersive, functional, and visually compelling digital environments by adopting collaborative and cooperative methodologies.
Orbe Marino was just the beginning—what other unseen worlds can we bring to life through digital design and technology? Let’s keep exploring.
